Your research, in your assistant
Connect QuestionPunk to create survey drafts, refine questions, review branching logic, and work with research results your account can access.
Connect your account
You need a QuestionPunk account and permission to access the studies you want to use. Your existing plan limits apply. Your assistant or organization may restrict custom connectors.
- Open your assistant’s custom MCP connector settings.
- Name the connector QuestionPunk and enter
https://app.questionpunk.com/api/v1. - Select OAuth and automatic client registration when offered. Sign in to QuestionPunk and review the requested permissions.
- Start a new conversation with QuestionPunk enabled. Ask: “Verify my QuestionPunk connection, then create an unpublished draft called Onboarding feedback.”
In Claude, use Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT, use the custom connection flow available to your developer workspace. Public directory listings are subject to each platform’s approval.
For Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http questionpunk https://app.questionpunk.com/api/v1, then claude mcp login questionpunk.
What you can do
- Create a draft from a brief or a template.
- Read a saved study, edit questions and translations, and configure branching.
- Review a draft and publish it when you explicitly request publication.
- With response permission, retrieve counts, reports, cross-tabulations, comments, and export links.
Try: “Create three onboarding questions and keep the study unpublished.” Or: “Review this draft for leading wording and confusing logic.” For a study with responses: “Summarize the completed responses with sample sizes and supporting comments.”
Participants answer through the study’s QuestionPunk link, which the connector returns when it publishes or reads a study. This researcher connector does not answer studies on a participant’s behalf or purchase recruitment.
Permissions and data
Each connection uses your own OAuth authorization. The baseline read and write permissions cover research authoring. Response and reporting tools require responses:read; QuestionPunk AI operations require ai. A host that requests only baseline permissions will not show response or AI tools.
Selected account information, study content, and requested research results are returned to the assistant you connect. Only connect an assistant you want to receive that data. The assistant provider’s own terms and retention policies apply to its copies. QuestionPunk’s processing is described in our privacy policy and terms.
Disconnect a grant in QuestionPunk Settings → Integrations → Connected apps. Revoking access prevents further use of that grant; it does not erase data already returned to an assistant.
Troubleshooting
- If sign-in expires or a grant is revoked, reconnect using the host’s OAuth flow. Never paste tokens into a chat.
- If a tool is missing, check the requested scopes and refresh the host’s connector catalog, then start a new conversation.
- If a write times out, read the saved study before retrying. Keep its returned ID to avoid duplicate drafts.
- If an export cannot download in the host, open the study in QuestionPunk and export there.
- OpenClaw shared channels require separately authorized requester identities. Muse setup remains a pilot pending host compatibility verification.
